About NNR Education

The NNR Education team was originally formed by volunteers in 2004 and was established to inspire learning on the North Norfolk Railway, fondly known as 'The Poppyline'.

The intent of the Educational department is to encourage learning through hand experiences, tapping into young peoples fertile imagination, rather than simply listening, seeing or reading.

As a department, we specialise in providing highly interactive educational workshops which will engage the mind and enable students to really 'live' the studied subject, whether it be History, Poetry, Drama, Science or Creative Writing...The possibilities are endless.

Our Educational staff are as varied as our workshops themselves and include Teachers, Historians, Actors, Musicians and Historical Interpreters just to list a few. We are supported by the Poppyline Education Group which raises funds to assist in the development of the department.

From concept to delivery, our aim is to make our workshops as accurate and as 'life like' as possible giving our visitors a real sense of 'living history'.

We are always keen to welcome new members to our Educational team, so if you would like to become part of the Education department please see our Volunteer Page and contact the Education Manager to find out how you can get involved.
